fac•tor•ing

Until recent decades, factoring was only available to large corporations that are able to meet the minimum threshold required by major Factors, many of which were wholly-owned by or subsidiaries of banks. Today, factoring is available to small and medium-sized businesses because factors are more diverse; requiring no minimums or maximums has entered the industry. This flexibility in financing allows for smaller business to enjoy the benefits from factoring. Companies with rapid growth and other cash flow needs are taking advantage of the cash made available to them by factoring their receivables.

Perfect credit is not required to establish a factoring account. The single most important requirement to qualify for factoring is that you must be a registered business and have accounts receivable due by credit-worthy customers. It is the factoring companies responsibility to verify your customer’s credit worthiness. Your company can qualify whether you are a start-up or already an established and profitable business with credit problems. Most factors can work with you even if you have ever had a bankruptcy or have IRS problems.

The following is a small sampling of companies that benefit from factoring their accounts receivables.

Janitorial Services – Trucking Companies – Apparel Industry – Lumber – Freight Forwarders – Furniture Manufacturers – Machine Shops – Painters – Advertising Agency – Courier Services – Photographers – Plastics Industries – Print Shops – Manufacturers – Guard Services – Equipment Suppliers – Repair Contractors – Employment Agencies – Consulting Services – Pallet Manufacturers and many more.

Accounts Receivable Funding Corporation has been providing working capital funding for small and medium sized business since 1941. ARFC is a leader and pioneer in the small business funding arena. Our program is specifically designed for the small business owners and is tailored for each company we work with. With locations in Texas and Pennsylvania, ARFC provides capital for small business owners all across the United States. For more information about our factoring program, please call 1-800-992-1717 and ask to speak with Shelly or Ira.

fac•tor•ing

Factoring receivables is not a loan. Your company is not borrowing any money or generating any new debt. Factoring is truly the sale of commercial receivables or invoices. The amount of money available to your company is directly related to the amount of receivables you generate. The more you sell the more money your company will have to operate and grow.

Factoring your receivables provides for your company to have the cash it needs today rather than waiting over 30 days to receive payment from your client. Money provided by factoring your receivables can used for whatever your company needs, such as:

Pay Creditors

Pay Payrolls

Pay Taxes

Take discounts on merchandise purchases

These are just a few of the needs of a growing business. The availability of having your money today rather than waiting for your customers to pay is priceless. On the average, a small business billing out $20,000 per month will enjoy growth by 80% over a six month period by factoring their receivables; the same business without using factoring will only grow by about 15% over the same time period.

Function: noun

Factoring is simply put as the purchase of accounts receivables (invoices) from a business providing a good or service to another business. The factor provides the capital upfront and assumes the responsibility of working each receivable to ensure prompt payment which allows the customer to continue operations and generate more business. Factoring receivables is not a loan, rather a buy sell agreement between the two parties. Typically, a factoring facility can be setup and funded in as little a three days (in some cases much quicker).

Today, factoring has become more and more popular. Fortune 500 companies’ use factoring services on millions of dollars a year in receivables and in some cases encourages their smaller vendors to sell their paper to a factoring company. Factoring has rapidly grown over recent years and is widely accepted by the financial world as a means of financing growing businesses. With banks closing their doors to small business owners, more and more are looking at factoring receivables as a best practice for financing their business.

This small family owned fabrication and welding shop recognized that the best way for them to grow was to stablize their cash flow and get better use of their funds.

Every small business owner knows that cash flow is the key to keeping their business running smoothly. The problem has always been how to get that cash flow flowing. Larger companies will take 30, 60, even 90 days to pay their bills. While this model works for larger companies, it can put a small business out of business. Most businesses are able to survive with decent cash flow, but what could you do with a steady source of cash flow? Most small business owners for one reason or another are not able to use traditional bank financing and must look for alternative sources of cash flow. One of the best kept secrets for small business owners is the use of their receivables as a means of generating consistent and steady cash flow.

Factoring, as it is traditionally known, is one of the best kept secrets to increase business cash flow. Factoring is not a loan, rather a buy/sell agreement between two parties; the factoring company and you. The factoring company works with you to purchase your receivables; thus providing your business with the immediate use of the funds rather than waiting over 30 days to get paid from your customers. The factor will then work the invoices through the payment cycle to receive payment from your customers. Funds provided by factoring can be used for any aspect of running your business. Here are just a few examples of how factoring can help run your business:

Take advantage of discounts with vendors by paying on-time

Easily make weekly payroll and IRS tax payments

Marketing for new business and client retention

Provide better employee benefits and employee retention

Although invoice factoring can appear to cost more on the surface than traditional bank financing, the benefits greatly outweigh the costs. Factoring your receivables will not only provide you with greater cash flow, but will also allow your company to achieve steady growth in any financial market. The table below shows the benefits of factoring.

From time to time, both large and small businesses have a problem with cash flow. This shortage in cash may be due to seasonal requirements, rapid expansion, product development or any number of other circumstances. The remedy most business owners and managers consider first is bank financing. Many times, however, businesses are ineligible because they have used their entire line of credit or they need to avoid long-term monthly payments.

Accounts Receivable Funding Corp., located in Houston at 10101 Fondren Road, Suite 305, phone (713) 668-1717, offers a solution to this cash shortage through factoring. Factoring is the purchase of accounts receivable on a discount basis. In effect, Accounts Receivable Funding Corp. is a secondary financial market that helps businesses through the cash flow crunches that can occur when they have to wait for payment on their invoices. Companies with creditworthy customers can factor their invoices and receive cash in as little as 24 hours, and they have no minimum or maximum contracts.

To see how your business can benefit from their professional services, contact Accounts Receivable Funding Corp. today for additional information or visit www.arfc.com.
